BluesBaby's Favorite Artists Near and Far - Blues Brothers
Blues Brothers - originially comprised of Elwood (Dan Akroyd) & "Joliet" Jake Blues (John Belushi) accompanied by Donald "Duck" Dunn, Matt "Guitar" Murphy, Steve "The Colonel" Cropper, Alan "Mr. Fabulous" Rubin, and Lou "Blue Lou" Marini they have mutated over the years (due to the untimely passing of John Belushi) to include (Jim Belushi) as Brother Zee and at times other notable bluesmen such as the late Lonnie Brooks, B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Charlie Musselwhite, and a host of others. Their movies invariably include a veritable "Who's Who" of the Blues.
The Blues Brothers Band embodies a style as much as a sound, with the dark suits, fedoras, white socks and dark glasses worn even at night. With the addition of John Goodman during the second of their films, another focus was brought to the humorous antics emodied within the original Blues Brothers concept. Each of the Blues Brothers evokes sympathy from their audience as a "misunderstood" member of society just looking for an opportunity to carry on the "blues tradition".
